yourwizardrockresource Oddly enough, thinking about Lemony Snicket's depressing book series brings back happy childhood memories. This album evokes the same emotions from eagerly borrowing every book from the library to find out the latest adventures of the Baudelaires. There's a good mix of funny, sad and haunting, and the songs with bass and drums are appropriately moody and hit just the right spot. Favorite track: Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.

Stephani D Grace Kendall excels at music full of heart and soul, and it usually ends up being either peppy or heart-wrenching. This album is no different, so many great songs to get stuck in your head, and I find it very amusing that the only swear word is in Carmelita Spatz. Favorite track: Villains.

I should warn you that things are not going well for me Through this armor, invisible, the bruise still blooms, you see And I’ve tried to research but there’s no way to reason a cough, a count, or a crook And he won’t relinquish the secret that keeps us trapped at the end of a hook This is a bad - no, this is a bad a very bad beginning a very bad beginning This marvelous, menacing plan Distraction is played by a man Think quickly, as fast as you can, and write a way out These books that no one will read These lives they never will lead We’re just children, I guess that we need to find our way out But if you can’t escape from the pages How can you free yourself in real life? If you can’t escape in the pages How can you stop him from taking a wife? This is a bad - no, this is a bad a very bad beginning a very bad beginning Oh, oh, oh, oh, woah Threatening Threatening eyes Threatening, I don’t deserve this Threatening, Threatening - I don’t deserve to die Threatening Threatening eyes Threatening, I don’t deserve this Threatening, Threatening eyes Does anyone deserve to die? Oh Does anyone deserve to… die?

You bite me on the chin And our friendship begins to form I bite you on the nose And so the friendship grows - Come on in, to the reptile room Our home away from home, away from home, away from home The reptile room Our home away from home, away from home You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend You are, you are, you are, you are an incredibly deadly viper You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend in the world I’ve been waiting on someone to speak my language And I’ve been hating on these adults, what’s their damage? I’m in love! It’s that deep-down feeling when you’ve found a friend Gets your whole heart screaming, “We don’t play pretend!” You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend You are, you are, you are, you are an incredibly deadly viper You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend in the world And if they can’t see how far We’ve come in an hour Surely these false screams Are an end to our means And if they can’t tell why This giant snake and I Get along so well Well, I won’t spell it out for them Look, I don’t have a lot of friends, but… You were, you were, you were, you were my best friend You were, you were, you were, you were a not-so-deadly viper You were, you were, you were, you were my best friend You were, you were, you were, you were my best friend in the world You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend You are, you are, you are, you are an incredibly deadly viper You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend You are, you are, you are, you are my best friend in the world

Fear 03:01
fear is a tricky thing it keeps you trapped inside it tends to paralyze you can’t believe everything you read even sweets can be more trick than treat and all the ones we meet we should be suspicious of i can’t help it if you’re braver than i i will live in this house til i die no, i can’t help it if you’re braver than me who will live, who will die you'll see not me so we hide our things beneath our beds turn off the stove and fill with dread ignore the phone i’ve heard it said: when one door closes open a window open a window now, i can’t help it if you’re braver than i i will live in this cave til i die no, i can’t help it help it if you’re braver than me who will live, who will swim, who will scream, who will cry, who will die you’ll see this love of words will be the death of me

about

All songs are inspired by A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Unless you are a particularly menacing lawyer or Netflix representative, in which case I haven't the faintest idea what you are talking about.

Thank you for your Voluntary Folk Donation.
